I have to blog about something. Today, I ended my 7 game losing streak in WarCraft III. I am very proud of how clever my victory was.

It was on this map here. I was in the upper left and my opponent was at the top. From the get-go I built up my Archmage and some Fighters and set out to gain XP by attacking the groups of ‘independent’ enemies scattered throughout the map. When I did encounter my opponent it was because I noticed he was really close to my base – we were right next to each other!

Anyway, long story short, we were taking shots at each other when I checked his base he has seriously beefed up defenses, so I thought up a plan that I swear would make Sun-Tzu proud. I took my Dwarven Mortar Teams (4 of em) and set about cutting a path through to his base … so I could enter behind his defenses and wreak some very unpleasant havok.

I cut a path wide enough for my entire army to go through, and when the last trees fell, his ghouls paused for a second, not sure if they should keep gathering wood or attack. They charged in to my troops, I think they were trying to get at my heroes, but I made short work of his minions, completely avoiding his defenses and devastating his base.

Man, I am proud of that victory. He had a second base going up but I mopped it up pretty fast. I am glad that I won, and hopefully I will be able to keep up the winnings.

I maybe broke down
But I’m not broken
I may be loud
But I’m not outspoken

Yes, I still have a migraine.

My condolences to Yoshi and Meryl 🙁 Everything just seems so crappy right now.

Right now I’m at the business end of a bad headache. I’m pretty sure it’s both caffeine and sugar related, so I’m in some kind of a migraine prison right now.

Ouch ouch ouch.

My WarCraft III Profile – it stinks real bad.

Anyway, what’s up y’all? Today my iBook bit the dust. There’s a chance that it’ll come back if I take it to a Mac service center – a lot of iBook G3’s have the same problem where the motherboard dies – so many customers had this problem on their iBooks that Apple is replacing these parts out of their own pockets – sucks that it died and nearly swallowed up my little graphics engine, it’ll be cool if they can do something about it.

It’s been nice having a laptop, but I would rather still fix up my home PC than buy a new laptop. Sukie seems really upset, I know she’s worried that I am pissed, but mostly, I’m just going to be bored at work, bored out of my silly little mind.

There’s schoolwork I can/will do, but that doesn’t take too long and I’m almost done with my Associates anyway – I don’t even know yet if I will go to school next semester.

Catch y’all later!

Late Night Love Poem (for Sukie)
There is not a God
The stars are silent
My heart aches
In your absence

I close my eyes and
Breathe you in
Inebriating miasma
strained Gossamer

The wildest colors
of your flamboyance
purvey a warning
I will die smiling

We are meant to have
What we are meant to lose

Do we really ever have anything?

“And she’s buying a stairway to heaven …”

I can’t help but listen to “Stairway to Heaven” – Led Zeppelin is so awesome.

So today I hear that Jabba is misbehaving in school. He doesn’t point at the words he reads, and doesn’t pay attention when the teacher is talking. His teacher actually used the words ‘stares off in to space’, which almost got me ticked, but I bit my tongue. I know what she meant, Jabba gets this look in his eyes when he’s ‘somewhere else’ in his mind. Not to get too sappy, but he’s in his imagination, and you can see the gears in his head thinking up some story or some clever relation between things he’s learning. He’s just bright, and not at all innattentive 🙁

I’m wondering if there’s a correlation between the imposed conformity in early childhood and the angst of teenage years? Ok, I don’t really wonder. Frankly, I think Kindergarden is just to warm you up to the idea of 7 hours in a class-room with somebody telling you what to do, which just warms you up for being in a cubicle for 8-16 hours a day with somebody else telling you what to do.

I guess it just shows some molds are made to be broken, so how do I convey this to my son without him getting even worse in school? I was joking with him and said that since he didn’t like to learn at school I’d have to stop teaching him stuff so he’d be forced to learn at school, and he started to choke up and get upset.

It’s times like that I am extremely glad that I have this kid, who is just too damn smart. There’s not a thing he can’t learn. It’s an awesome responsibility to be his father.

Well the trek home last night was absolute crap. I-80 isn’t plowed at 1am, so guess who had fun sliding all over it at 30 miles an hour? Uh huh, yours truly.

So tonight will be a similar trek, wish me luck 🙂

I feel pumped, you know? Like I’m on edge and something big is going to happen soon? I don’t know. It’s weird. It’s in the air. Maybe I’m having a biological reaction to the impending spring? Who knows.

This has been another crazy late night post brought to you by the folks at Pepsi.

My, my ,my.

Hey, at least I’m blogging more often 😛

So I got myself some Adidas. I have to say, I really like the way they feel on my foot. It’s like a slipper. My foot feels taped up like I’m ready to do some ass-kicking or something. The profile of them is much smaller than my average shoe – usually I wear something much larger than my actual foot, not in size, just profile.

Here’s a photo.

They’re sports shoes, but different than the even bulkier skater style shoes I normally wear.

I don’t know, they’re really comfy. They just don’t ‘go’ with much of what I wear – they conflict with the style I have dug myself in to. Oh well, after wearing them to the gym and running around I’ll get thinner and feel more comfortable with my body. Who knows?

So, it’s been an interesting couple of days – I locked myself out of my house the other day, walked to my mother-in-law’s because I couldn’t reach anybody, and then had the fun task of figuring out how I was going to get home in time to pick up Jabba from school.

I guess I’m not much for walking places anymore. My legs were dying when I got to my mother-in-law’s house.

It wasn’t until the ordeal was almost over that I realized who I could call to help me out – Antigone! Antigone and her mom came and picked me up. Sukie says I’m a huge dork – making somebody drive 5 miles because I don’t want to walk one mile. When she puts it like that, I feel like a grade A moron.

Problem after problem after problem, I didn’t get angry or fuss too much – it was ok, and I knew it would turn out ok. I swear I’m just preparing to get stranded on an island, because I always get stranded somewhere and have an ‘adventure’.

In light of recent events I got myself a pair of walking/running shoes. I was picky about it, because I don’t like the ‘ooooh over the top’ look of most athletic shoes, or the ‘hey, I’m really white!’ look of other athletic shoes. I finally found some good old-school style adidas, black with the classic three white stripes. They’ve got that rubber skid thing in front though, which I’m not too fond of, but oh well.

I need to get some shoes for going to the gym anyway.

theorb77 and Antigone have gotten new jobs. Antigone might apply at my workplace. She’s already more knowledgeable that 3/4ths of the people here, and more logical than probably anybody. I think she might run in to problems with how this place is run, because it’s so darn illogical!
